Re: Announcing Hillary Rodham Clinton ’69 as Wellesley’s 2017 Commencement Speaker
Date: February 1, 2017

It is my great honor to announce that Hillary Rodham Clinton, Wellesley class of 1969, has accepted our invitation to serve as Wellesley’s 2017 commencement speaker. Given this extraordinary opportunity, the Senior Class Council has agreed to break protocol and announce the speaker early this year. Details will follow in the days to come, but the Clinton team is eager to announce the news and I wanted you to be the first to hear it.

Secretary Clinton has devoted her distinguished life of service fighting for women and girls. She will inspire the Wellesley graduates of 2017 to imagine new possibilities for the future, and then go out into the world to realize their ambitions—finding the courage to make the impossible, possible.

It is with immense pride that we prepare to welcome Secretary Clinton back to campus.
