From: President Paula A. Johnson
Subject: Announcing the Launch of the Voluntary Retirement Program
Date: July 11, 2017

I am writing to announce that after careful consideration and in consultation with the Board of Trustees, the College will be offering a voluntary retirement program to eligible members of the Wellesley community who have dedicated their careers to making Wellesley such an exceptional institution.

The voluntary, one-time program will be available to benefits-eligible faculty and administrative staff who are aged 60 or older and have completed 10 or more years of service to the College. The program supports our efforts to develop a sustainable budget model for the long term, as we work to secure the excellence that so many have worked so hard to achieve.

Later today, Provost Andy Shennan and Carolyn Slaboden, Assistant Vice President of Human Resources and Equal Opportunity, will be emailing you to provide more details.

We approach our future from a position of fundamental strength, as an extraordinary institution educating women who will make a difference in the world. Moving forward, we will remain focused on the strategic choices that will sustain the outstanding education we provide now and for future generations of students.
