Re: Nominate a Student Today for a Camellia Student Leadership Award
Date: March 4, 2019

The Division of Student Life is pleased to announce that nominations for the 2019 Camellia Student Leadership Awards are now open. Established last spring, the awards honor students who demonstrate exemplary leadership through engagement on campus and in the broader community. We will welcome nominations for this year’s awards until March 18.

The awards are named after the Durant Camellia, one of the longest-lasting gifts of Wellesley’s founders, Henry and Pauline Durant, to the College. An elegant example of a species of flowering tree, the Durant Camellia is a symbol of resilience and ongoing growth and has borne silent witness to the development of outstanding leaders throughout the College’s history. The Camellia Student Leadership Awards acknowledge students whose leadership is also marked by personal growth, community development, and lasting impact.

All members of the Wellesley College community are invited to nominate students who they feel exemplify the spirit of the awards. Please visit the website to make a nomination, learn more about the 10 award categories for individuals and groups, and see a list of last year’s awards recipients.

Please join us on Friday, May 3, at 4 p.m. in the Alumnae Ballroom for the awards ceremony, followed by an outdoor reception to celebrate the honorees.
