Re: Wellesley’s New Title IX Coordinator/504 Coordinator
Date: November 12, 2019

I am writing to introduce Kate Upatham, who joins Wellesley this week to serve as our new full-time director of nondiscrimination initiatives and Title IX coordinator/504 coordinator. Kate comes to the College with a depth of relevant experience as a civil rights attorney with the Department of Education’s Office of Civil Rights and as an outside lawyer representing higher education institutions. She has extensive experience serving as an independent investigator of Title IX and employment cases.

As many of you know, Janet Faulkner recently served as Wellesley’s interim director of nondiscrimination initiatives and Title IX coordinator/504 coordinator. As she returns to her private law practice, I would like to thank Janet for her many contributions. I am grateful for the valuable service Janet provided, and for her care and dedication to our community.

Please join me in welcoming Kate to Wellesley, and feel free to contact her through the online reporting form, by email at titleix@wellesley.edu, or by phone at 781.281.2451.
