Re: News About Lisa Barbin
Date: July 31, 2020

Today I write to share the news that Lisa Barbin, chief of police, will be leaving the College in early August to pursue other opportunities.

Lisa joined Wellesley in 2000 as a deputy chief and shortly thereafter, in 2002, she became the first woman to be appointed to the position of chief of police at Wellesley College.

Over the course of Lisa’s career, she has been committed to serving and protecting our community and visitors to campus. From 2002 to 2016, Lisa led our emergency management work and led the Wellesley College police response to the Boston Marathon bombing.

I am grateful to Lisa for her service over the past 20 years. Please join me in wishing her well with her future endeavors.

Lieutenant Phil DiBlasi will provide departmental leadership during this transition.
