Re: Important: Required Health and Safety Checklist
Date: August 13, 2020
We know this is a busy time as you prepare to travel to Wellesley, and we are so looking forward to having you here on campus to enjoy the beautiful fall. We need to ask you to complete a few additional health and safety tasks before traveling. We promise these won’t take long, but they must be done before you arrive on campus.
Broad Institute Testing
For your first two weeks on campus, you will be tested every two to three days; you will be tested weekly thereafter. This ongoing testing will be done on campus through our partnership with the Broad Institute. To prepare for the Broad testing, you must complete a few additional steps before arriving on campus. First, simply log into MyWellesley to view your Fall 2020 Documentation Dashboard. These are the items you need to complete:
-
Student acknowledgement. This explains some of the risks and shared responsibilities we need you to acknowledge and agree to before you come to campus.
-
Broad testing consent. To participate in the Broad Institute testing you must sign the Broad testing consent form, which you will find in your dashboard. If you are under 18, you also need parental consent for Broad Institute testing; directions will be available in the dashboard.
-
Health and safety training. We are asking all students to complete Wellesley College health and safety training before coming to campus, which includes useful information about what you can do to stay healthy while helping to protect the health of others.
-
Share any previous positive test results. If you have tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 90 days (on or after May 15, 2020), you will be required to upload documentation showing the test result. We will use this information to help determine the best testing protocol for you.
Scheduling Tests and Accessing Test Results
We are using an app developed by Tufts University for scheduling the Broad Institute testing. This app, called Campus Key, will be available through the App Store for iPhones and through the Play Store for Android phones. We expect test results to be available within 24 hours from the time that the Broad lab receives the test. Negative results will be communicated through Care Evolve, a system that the Broad uses for information exchange with those who are being tested. Instructions for downloading the Campus Key app and creating your Care Evolve account will be posted in the dashboard by Friday, August 14. Health Services provided by Newton-Wellesley Collegiate Health will personally contact students who test positive in the Broad Institute testing program.
Once you have checked these all off your list, you are good to go. Enjoy the last few days of summer, and we will see you soon!
