Re: Public Safety Tips
Date: September 4, 2020

Recently a person who was not affiliated with Wellesley College gained entry to Stone-Davis Hall. While the person was respectfully escorted out of the residence hall and off campus, we think it is important to provide you with a few suggestions to maintain safety, especially at a time when fewer people are on campus.

All of us here at Wellesley want each of you to have the fullest possible experience that being on this wonderful campus brings. We also want to provide you with some basic safety tips that can serve you well while on campus or off campus. They are:

  • Always lock your residence hall room and secure your valuables;
  • Do not let anybody you do not know come into a residence hall behind you;
  • Program the Campus Police emergency number into your cell phone: 781.283.5555;
  • If you see somebody being victimized, call Campus Police at 781.283.5555;
  • Try to walk with a friend when walking around the campus at night (of course mask up and physically distance); and
  • Do not hesitate to contact Campus Police if you have a public safety concern.

Campus Police is here to serve you and address your concerns, together with our partners in the Office of Residential Life.

Thank you and have a wonderful semester.
