Re: Please Add Your Voice to an Important Upcoming Racial Climate Survey
Date: September 28, 2021

I am pleased to announce that this fall, for the first time, Wellesley will be participating in the USC Center for Race and Equity’s National Assessment of Collegiate Campus Climates (NACCC), a survey designed to help colleges and universities better assess and understand the ways students perceive and experience the racial climate on campuses.

Please look for an email later this morning about the NACCC from helpdesk@nacccsurvey.org and click the link inside to participate. Your responses will be confidential. Completed surveys will be sent directly to the NACCC survey team, not to anyone here at the College.

The data from this survey will help guide Wellesley as we seek to strengthen our commitment to inclusive excellence as a transformative force for our curriculum and our community—a key component of our strategic plan. It will help us better understand where we are making progress, and where we need to improve.

This survey is a component of our broader relationship with the Liberal Arts Colleges Racial Equity Leadership Alliance (LACRELA), a consortium Wellesley joined in November 2020 as an inaugural member that now includes nearly 70 colleges and universities. It is designed to help institutions in higher education address equity gaps in student experiences and outcomes.

Equity and inclusive excellence are core values for the Wellesley community, pillars of our strategic plan, and central to our vision for creating a campus environment where all students have what they need to flourish. This survey is a chance to add your voice to that effort. I sincerely hope you will take the time to share your thoughts and be a part of making Wellesley a better, more inclusive community.
