Re: Preparing Campus Spaces for Winter Break
Date: December 16, 2021
As our campus prepares for winter break from December 24, 2021 to January 2, 2022, we would like to share some important reminders. With your help, we can conserve as much energy as possible while we are away and leave our spaces in good working order for our return.
Before you leave campus for the break, please complete this checklist:
- Close (and, if possible, lock) all windows and draw any window coverings
- Turn radiator valves back to #2 and/or set thermostats to 62 degrees
- Empty food out from refrigerators and kitchens; also consider unplugging and defrosting personal mini fridges, or if they are no longer needed, recycling them
- Unplug or turn off power strips for computers, monitors, and other plug-in devices
- Power down or enable sleep mode for printers, copiers, and other office hardware
- Shut off all lights not controlled by motion-sensor
By following these guidelines, you are minimizing food and energy waste and keeping with Wellesley’s sustainability mission.
If you have any questions or need assistance, please review the above links or call maintenance services dispatch at 781.283.2767. If it is an official holiday, a recorded message will instruct you to call Campus Police at 781.283.2121.
Thank you in advance for helping the College be a more sustainable community. From all of us in Facilities, have a wonderful winter break, and best wishes for 2022.
