Dear Wellesley Students,
This past weekend was full of fun events and programs and parties to celebrate Halloween. Unfortunately, we also had a concerning number of highly intoxicated students that required medical attention. We know that you are concerned about one another and we hope that you will take measures to care for yourself and your community. I urge you to review our alcohol policies here, and particularly reflect on the fact that providing alcohol to underage people is not only against the law but can put the health of siblings at risk. Moving forward, we plan to work harder to address this issue on campus. If you need help learning how to manage alcohol, please consult the Student Wellness Office for training. Please support each other, act responsibly and stay within the limits of the law when you socialize.
Covid Update: Students have asked that we continue to update on the numbers of students in isolation for Covid-19. According to our records, there are 6 students currently in isolation.
There will be a Booster clinic coming on 11/11 from 10-4pm! Pre-register here. All students are required to get the new booster by December 1, so this is a great opportunity to get yours on campus before the deadline! We have made some changes to the operation of the clinic to try to shorten the wait times for this clinic as compared to last month’s clinic, so we hope to see you there!
As you are thinking about Thanksgiving travel, you may want to test before going home. Optional testing will be available Monday and Tuesday of the Thanksgiving week, please plan ahead to avoid lines. Testing will be available Sunday through Friday after Thanksgiving, and we encourage students returning from travel and family gatherings to protect each other and our community by testing before returning to the classroom.
Events on Campus:
Wellesley kicks off its First-Gen Celebration Week from Nov. 7-11, during which offices and departments from across the campus will host a series of activities, programs and giveaways to honor first-generation college students. National First-Gen Day is Nov. 8, but we will be celebrating all week long! Check out their events here:
It is Native American Heritage Month! Check out all the events here.
Have a restful weekend. You deserve it.
