Dear Students,

Today we hosted the Covid-19 vaccine booster clinic in Tishman. All students are required to get the new booster by December 1. I hope that you’ve made plans to get yours by the deadline.

Now is a good time to check in with your academic advisor as well and review your academic progress report. Academic Progress Report (APR) Documentation for Students. Contact the Registrar’s Office if you have questions about the APR.

Next week is Tanner! If you are presenting, Good luck! And if you are not presenting, I hope you take this opportunity to attend sessions to support your sibs in this scholarly endeavor. Get inspired by Wellesley students’ leadership and engagement!

First-years! Register for Embark: A First-Year Career Retreat
Deadline to register: December 9, 2022
This free weekend-long immersive program will allow you to feel equipped with a metaphorical backpack of tools you’ll need to begin your career exploration.  Join us to connect with Career Education, discover how to identify and utilize your values and strengths through our assessments and activities, hear career stories from Wellesley alums, and learn about the variety of opportunities that are available to you as a Wellesley student, like funded internships, study abroad, and research.  This is a great place to start your career exploration, and we’ll have fun along the way.

Dean Montagna and I hosted the first of a series of “Dinner with the Deans” this week. It was so good to spend some down time with students to talk over a meal. If you would like to join us for dinner on Tuesday, December 6th at 5pm, please sign up here.
The Student Life Advisory Group met last week as well. We have openings for first year students and sophomores.  If you are interested in serving on this group to advise the Dean of Students  and other  Senior Leaders on issues of importance, please email us at deanofstudents@wellesley.edu.

Finally, today is Veteran’s Day, a day to reflect on those who serve and protect us now and in the past. Special acknowledgement to our ROTC students and alums: Thank you for your service!

Have a safe and restful weekend,

Sheilah Shaw Horton
Vice President and Dean of Students
