Dear Students,

Thanks to our Office of Religious and Spiritual Life, we are in the process of supporting students through many religious observances. This week our campus community is full of spiritual activities with the overlap, for the first time in many years, of Holy Week, Great Lent, Passover, Ramadan, Hanna Matsuri: Buddha’s Birthday, Hanuman Jayanti, and Mahavir Jayanti. Many among us are fasting, worshiping, praying, celebrating, and gathering to practice in diverse ways. The diversity of religious and spiritual identities in our community is part of what makes Wellesley College so special. As so many students practice their observances and celebrations, I invite us to engage with compassionate curiosity, and that we be mindful of how we can be present for one another at this time. May this spring season, so full of spiritual energy, be of blessing and renewal to our community!

Here are some updates and upcoming events that you should be aware of:

You may have heard that the pronoun field is a new addition to our Workday system and is now available to all Wellesley users–students, faculty, and staff. The pronoun field is editable by each user from their personal device, so it can be changed, more than once if so desired, and without needing to make a request to any campus office. Check out the email sent earlier today from the registrar.

The Class Deans Office will be available to answer your class registration questions at “Register with Confidence” on April 12th from 10am to 5pm in the 2nd Floor Reading Room in Schneider.

The Pinanski Teaching Prize nominations are open! Faculty, staff, and students may submit nominations that offer specific, illustrative examples of excellent teaching. The Prize is meant to recognize some particular strength, some style or method or course, or some other teaching quality that has been especially successful. Nominations may be submitted electronically through MyWellesley. After logging in to MyWellesley, select the Administrivia tab. The Pinanski Teaching Prize Nomination link is accessible under the “For Everyone” section.

2023 Commencement Senior Speaker Application open until Wednesday, April 12.  It is a great opportunity for seniors to reflect on their growth over four years and share advice to their fellow graduates.

The House Presidents’ Council has decided to bring back Lip-Sync Spring 2023! Bring your talent (or lack thereof!) to the stage on April 23rd for the chance to win prizes and immortalize your place in Wellesley College history with this time-honored tradition. Sign up as an individual or group act with this google form. Who will be the college celebrity judge???

April 17th is Marathon Monday (MarMon), an historic and exciting event for Wellesley College students as the route takes runners past our campus! Get your signs made to support the runners and warm up your voice for the infamous Wellesley Scream Tunnel! Check out a few Tips for a fun and safe MarMon.
