Re: Launch of Wellesley’s new website
Date: March 8, 2024

After much hard work by our colleagues in Communications and Public Affairs and Library and Technology Services, and with significant input from faculty, staff, and students, the College will launch a completely redesigned public website on March 11. The new site provides an improved navigation and user experience and reflects our bold new visual identity, one that captures the transformative power of a Wellesley education and the vibrancy of our community.

The site prioritizes the information needs of prospective students and their families, as well as those of faculty and staff who are considering joining Wellesley. To address the needs of our current students, faculty, and staff, later this month we will launch a new intranet designed to make it easier to complete all College tasks and business. The intranet is still a work in progress; we will roll it out in phases starting March 25. We are hoping this phased approach will give us more time to gather community feedback.

As with any website launch, we expect to experience a period of transition. During this time we will maintain the current MyWellesley portal as well as provide access to necessary information from the current Drupal website. All users will be able to access the current site by visiting www1.wellesley.edu. All editors will be able to log in and update their Drupal pages.

On Monday, you might see the old site after the changeover, but we should be able to resolve that quickly. We ask for your patience as we work to ensure a smooth and successful launch, and we will address any issues as soon as we can.

The new public website represents a dramatic improvement, but we understand that it will not be perfect. If you have requests for specific changes, please fill out the Public Website Change Request Form. Corrections will take priority. We also want to hear your overall thoughts and reactions to the new site—please share them here!

We hope you enjoy the new website, and we thank you for your patience and participation throughout this process.
