Re: Update to COVID-19 guidance on isolation
Date: March 28, 2024

Recently the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention released new guidance related to COVID-19 protocols and isolation procedures for those who have the virus (and other respiratory diseases). The updated guidance indicates that individuals who test positive no longer need to isolate for five days.

If you have a respiratory virus, the CDC says, you can return to “normal activities when, for at least 24 hours, both are true: Your symptoms are getting better overall, and you have not had a fever (and are not using fever-reducing medication).”

The CDC stresses that upon returning to normal activities you should consider taking added precautions over the next five days, including using masks, practicing physical distancing, and/or testing if you will be around others indoors.

Please read the CDC’s full guidance.

The College is adopting these guidelines, and we ask everyone to check the Keeping Wellesley Healthy website for updates.
