This week in biochemistry

I have thoroughly enjoyed watching the presentations we have had this week. Apart from getting a recap of everything we have learned in class this semester, I have laughed and simply been in awe of the creativity that this class possesses! I hope that every guest that came got as much appreciation as I did but one thing that’s sure is my own appreciation for the relevance of biochemistry to many areas of life increased. Thank you everyone for such a great end to a class!

Agreed! I think everyone did such a great job in presenting the new concepts in a course-relevant and more importantly, FUN way. I learned so much about topics that I’d probably never visit on my own. Great style and thought from everyone!

And it was really interesting and fun to also see how everyone approached some of the similar themes in different ways!

I agree; it is interesting to think about what the guests gained from the presentations. Had I been in the audience for last year’s presentations, it would have been mostly all new to me! We have progressed as Biochemists a lot this semester (:

Yes I must say that the presentations were such a great and FUN way to end the semester! Specifically, I liked seeing how different people explained something that was all “common knowledge” for us biochem kids, such as noncovalent interactions — i loved how some people tried to act it out, others used props like velcro and magnets to convey different interaction strengths, etc, etc. Just really fun to see how differently and yet similarly all our minds work!
