Monday, September 9 –

  • Fulbright Q and A Info Session | 12:30 pm | PNE 127  This information session will focus on the application process for the Fulbright U.S. Student Program. The Fulbright offers hundreds of awards annually to young Americans who wish to go overseas to either teach English or to pursue a research project of their own design. Please RSVP on MyCWS.
  • Writing the Fellowship Essay Workshop | 4:30 pm | PNE 339 What makes a competitive fellowship essay? How do I talk about my accomplishments without bragging? How “personal” should a personal statement be? Who reads these essays and what do they want to learn about me? Learn the answer to these questions and more in this popular workshop led by Writing Center Director Professor Ann Velenchik – a must for anyone who think they may apply for one of these exciting awards.   • Recruiting Info Session | 7:00 pm | SCI 277 The Recruiting Information session will cover the CWS on-campus recruiting program including policies, program etiquette, MyCWS usage, etc. Please RSVP on MyCWS.

Tuesday, September 10 –

  • Biomedical Virtual Grad Fair | All day | Online REGISTER NOW to attend a FREE Biomed Virtual Grad School Fair, featuring top Biomed schools throughout the nation.
  • Tanner Abstract Submission Due Date | NOON | MyWellesley portal Did you have a great off campus experience over the summer or during the school year? Make sure you consider submitting an application to the 2013 Tanner Conference. Tanner is a great way to connect classroom learning with an experience (like an internship, study abroad, or service opportunity) you’ve had off campus. You can submit individually or submit a joint application with 2-6 students. The Tanner Conference is also a great way to see what your Wellesley classmates have been up to and a great way to begin networking with people doing things you would like to do. For more information (i.e., FAQs, how to apply), please visit the Tanner website.
  • Grad School Tuesdays [new for 2013!] | 12:15 pm-1:30 pm | Wang Campus Center, 2nd floor  The CWS will offer graduate school drop-ins on Tuesdays from 12:15-1:30pm on the second floor of the Wang Campus Center, east Entrance, on Tuesdays during the fall semester when classes are in session. In addition, up to two graduate schools may be visiting campus and will have a drop-in table next to the CWS counselor. Make sure to check MyCWS for the most up-to-date listing of which graduate schools are attending.
  • Science Fellowships Info Session | 12:30 pm | SCI 104 – Learn about fellowship opportunities specifically meant for students in the sciences, like the Goldwater and the Churchill, and other fellowships for which science students can be excellent candidates, like the DAAD, Luce, Fulbright and more. Please RSVP on MyCWS
  • Luce Scholars Program Info Session | 4:30 pm | CWS library – The Luce Scholars Program provides a ten-month internship in East Asia to young leaders established in their career fields without significant experience in Asia or Asian studies. (Restricted to U.S. citizens under age 30.) Please RSVP on MyCWS.
  • Watson Q & A Info Session | 7:00 pm | SCI 377 – The Watson Fellowship offers graduating seniors a year of independent, purposeful exploration and travel outside the U.S. Open to all nationalities. Come learn more from campus coordinator of the Watson Fellowship, Lauri Wardell. Please RSVP on MyCWS.

Wednesday, September 11 –

  • Student Orgs Fair | 12:00 pm | Severance Green – The Orgs Fair is an annual event hosted by the Student Organization and Appointments Committee to help first-years discover the variety of organizations available on campus. All organizations, constituted and unconstituted, have been invited to participate in the Orgs Fair. Come meet the CWS service groups and learn about on-campus service opportunities!
  • LinkedIn Job Seeker Webinar | 12:00 pm | Online – Finding your dream job just got easier! Sign up for this month’s LinkedIn’s free, 60-minute webinar to learn strategies and best practices to leverage LinkedIn at every stage of your job search.
  • Campus Deadline: Rhodes, Marshall, Mitchell, Churchill applications | NOON | CWS library All applications should be submitted to Elizabeth Mandeville at the CWS by noon.

Thursday, September 12 –

  • Fidelity Investments Info Session | 6:00 pm | PNE 139 Representatives from Fidelity will be on campus.  Business casual attire required. Please RSVP in MyCWS.

Friday, September 13 –

  • Campus Deadline: Fulbright U.S. Student Program | NOON  Campus deadline for the the Fulbright U.S. Student Program. All applications should be submitted online by noon.

Saturday, September 14 –

  • Consulting Case Series II – McKinsey | 10:00 am – 12:00 pm    During this session, Justine Pang ’07, Associate of McKinsey & Co., will be presenting more in-depth case study skills. Justine graduated from Wellesley in 2007, started her career  in academic/research fields, completed an MBA at Sloan, and switched to management consulting after obtaining her MBA. Please RSVP on MyCWS.
  • Wellesley On Wall Street: Tips for Success From Alumnae | 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm | LWC 413  This is a fantastic opportunity to connect with Wellesley alumnae now working on Wall Street. These women are coming as past students of Wellesley, and not as representatives of their firms. This means they are here solely to give honest tips and advice about how YOU can build a career in finance. Please RSVP on MyCWS — space is limited.
