Joan Wallace Benjamin ‘75
CEO, The Home for Little Wanderers

A strong advocate for children, Joan Wallace Benjamin is the President and CEO of The Home for Little Wanderers.  Under her leadership, the Home has gained prominence in the field of child and family service providers, becoming a leader in innovative programming for underserved populations and expanding its role of advocacy for all children.  Previously, Joan headed the Urban League of Eastern Massachusetts.  In keeping with her focus on improving the lives of children, Joan served as the Director of Operations for Boys and Girls Clubs of Boston and Deputy Director of ABCD Head Start.  She did take a career detour to work as Deval Patrick’s Chief of Staff for his transition team and first months of office.  Joan has received numerous awards including Boston Magazine’s 50 Most Powerful Women (Feb. 2011) as well as several honorary doctorate degrees for her community contributions.

Betsy Cohen ‘76
Vice President, Nestle Purina & Pet Welfare

Nestle is so much more than chocolate as Betsy Cohen’s career and current work responsibilities demonstrate.  As Nestle’s VP, Betsy works with brands such as Stouffer’s, Purina Pet Products, and Nestle confections, to align sustainability programs throughout Nestle’s operating companies.  She deals with a surprisingly wide range of subjects including lowering greenhouse gasses, water issues, and deforestation.  Her overarching goal is to help her company grow while sustaining world resources for the future.   Her view is both global and local.  In her own community, she uses a strategy called “collective impact” to help increase animal adoptions and reduce euthanasia, thereby adding to the demand for Purina’s pet food.  Betsy holds an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.

Katherine Collins ‘90
Founder and CEO, Honeybee Capital

Katherine Collins is Founder and CEO at Honeybee Capital, a role that brought together several of her interests and goals with regard to investing and the broader world.  While serving as a successful mutual fund manager at Fidelity, Katherine also acted as Program Officer at the Fidelity Foundation.  Using an analogy from the world of bees, Katherine sought to increase optimal investment decision-making by pollinating ideas across varied fields.  By traveling and earning her M.T.S. degree from the Harvard Divinity School, she has been able to integrate her investment strategy with ideas that benefit our communities and our planet.  Katherine has held varied volunteer leadership positions for her alma mater, Wellesley College.

Nancy Murphy ‘76
Senior Advisor, Global Business Network

Nancy Richard Murphy ’76 is a strategist, writer, and consultant who works with organizations and individuals that strive to shape the future.  For more than 20 years, Nancy helped lead Global Business Network, the pre-eminent scenario planning and futures thinking consultancy (now a member of the Monitor Group), where she still serves as a senior advisor.  Nancy’s outward view is apparent in her various GBN roles including head of the Worldview membership business, editor-in-chief, head of marketing and communications, and network weaver/evangelist.  In addition to her work, Nancy is writing a novel, advising start-ups, and mentoring young Rwandan women who dream of a U.S. education.
