Monday, March 10-

  • Fulbright Info Session | 4:30-5:30 PM | GRH 442 – What is the Fulbright U.S. Student Program and how do I apply? Come learn the basics and start planning your own Fulbright adventure. All prospective Fulbright applicants should attend at least one info session. Please RSVP on MyCWS.
  • Fulbright Opportunities in the Humanities and Social Sciences | 6:00-7:30 PM | PNW 117 – Come hear Wellesley and Fulbright alumna Emily Daina Saras describe her Fulbright experience studying music and anthropology in Lithuania and give advice to new applicants. Please RSVP on MyCWS.

Tuesday, March 11-

  • Life as a State Legislator | 4:30-5:30 PM | PNE 239 – Come and hear state legislators discuss their lives as legislators for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. They will touch on areas such as why they decided to run for office; the challenges they have faced as female legislators; and how students can begin their path into politics.   • Fulbright in the Sciences | 5:30-7:00 PM | SCI 277 – Come hear Wellesley and Fulbright alumnae Lucy Archer (physics, France) and Alison Lee (biology, Korea) describe their Fulbright experiences. They’ll offer advice specifically for prospective Fulbright candidates in science and mathematics. Please RSVP on MyCWS.

Wednesday, March 12-

  • Alternative Breaks Info Session | 12:30-1:30 PM | PNE 239 –  As we look to the future of our Alternative Breaks program, we look forward to engaging more Wellesley students in our leadership framework. We hope Alternative Breaks will be a program for students run by students. For next year, we’re looking for students who are passionate about service and who are seeking an opportunity to assume a leadership role in our service community at Wellesley. If you are interested in learning more about this our program and the various ways that you can become involved in the Alternative Breaks movement, we encourage you to attend our information session.   • Faculty and their Fulbrights | 12:30-1:30 PM | PNW 212 – Many Wellesley professors were Fulbrighters once, too! Come see Professors Wesley Waters (astronomy) and Ann Velenchik (writing program and economics) describe their years abroad with Fulbright grants in Norway and Cote d’Ivoire and hear how it influenced their careers.   • CWS Twitter Chat: Networking Online | 9:00 -10:00 PM | On Twitter  – Every 2nd Wednesday of the month, the CWS will be hosting a LIVE Twitter chat focusing on a different topic of interests for our students and alumnae. Our March #AskCWS Twitter chat will focus on how to network online, using tools like LinkedIn and Twitter. Please join us!

Thursday, March 13-

  • Arts Career Panel | 6:00 PM | Collins Cinema  – Organized by the Davis Museum Student Advisory Committee (DMSAC), this job panel will feature 6-7 arts professionals from throughout New England. The panel includes curators, conservators, and professionals in museum development, museum education, and local art auction houses. Panelists will present on their respective backgrounds, interests, and career trajectories, which will be followed by a question and answer session. This panel is ideal for those who are interested in learning about the diverse career opportunities available in the arts to students of various disciplines, including but not limited to: Art, Architecture, CAMS, Classics, Communications, Computer Science, Economics, Education, English, MAS, and Political Science. There will be a reception afterwards in the lobby of Collins Cinema.
  • Fulbright English-Teaching Assistantship Panel | 6:30 – 8:00 PM | FND 120 – Wellesley and Fulbright alumnae Beilin Ye (Korea) and Alexandra Del Solar (Andorra) will describe their experience teaching English abroad as Fulbrighters, and will offer advice on how you can translate your past teaching experiences into a great Fulbright ETA proposal.
