Olivia Dumont, a member of the 2015 yellow class, was awarded the Susan Rappaport Knafel Travel Fellowship. She is spending the next year exploring maternal health and reproductive politics in six or seven countries. In regards to her travel, Olivia says: “But as I’ve learned in the past month, this year is primarily a study of spontaneity, adventure, and the self. Right now I’m loving my internship at Roots of Health (ROH), the highly successful nonprofit founded by Amina Evangelista Swanepoel, goddess and Wellesley alumna. The grassroots reproductive health education and clinical care work done by ROH in Palawan, the Philippines is a model of nonprofit efficacy and community empowerment!”
