When she drew the neuron at the beginning, I became excited. I had remembered the biology I learned in the tenth grade. After sitting in Professor Sommer’s lecture about hearing, music, and the brain, I am eternally thankful for being able to hear music that pleases me. I am amazed at the chain of processes it takes for me to hear and I respect and appreciate my brain (and body) more. I rarely think about how complex the human body is, nor do I think about how it actually works (and the science). Professor Sommer’s lecture got my gears turning – I want to study more about the human body. Most of her lecture was about the brain and how it functioned. It is such a fascinating organ! How can something inside of me be that complex?
