During last class, I really understood the importance of different fields and how they can interact with each other. For instance, I really expected the physicians to be able to decypher more about the disease that was present rather than the anthropologists. I was in one of the anthropologist group and we chose to pursue the most anthropologistical method, to earn the trust of the people. It turned out, that method was the one which was able to decypher and solve the mystery the best.
So, I wonder whether it’s a good idea to separate the fields so distinctively or if it’s better to combine them. I mean we put so much emphasis on science that we forget that there are other very successful ways in diagnosing diseases that are central to these sciences.
Another thing that made me think a lot after the class was the whole concept of bioethics. While I believe that animal testing is morally wrong, no one can deny how much it helps science progress. I wonder, how far behind would we be if we did not have it?
