He appeared out of nowhere, out of fear and resentment and unwanted misery.
Slowly but surely they were all convinced: why not go for it? It seems like an easy enough solution.
At the beginning, they were all the same but corruption got to them faster then they though, and spread like a wild fire; once in contact, there was nothing they could do to get the murderous ideas out of their minds. They were bent, folded and irreparably impaired.
And later on they would ask, they would plead and they would beg, trying to understand the hate. How could this happen? How could human nature be so vile?
No answer would be provided, because no answer was ever found.
Vigilance and prevention are the only solutions, eradication is not an option.
Understanding the scientific explanations behind such a disease as Prions is for sure not the easiest thing, but what I got of it was the fact that once a few proteins in your brain were infected, they were sure to propagate it to other proteins.
Weirdly enough, this reminded me of human nature in the way that corruption or social influence works and spreads through different institutions. If one person starts doing something, they can easily convince others to follow them down that path, and the more followers there are the easier it becomes.
