The Prion in Music

I wanted to create the musical effect of one infectious prion propagating slowly, as it duplicates and converts each consecutive normal protein at a time. I had some trouble using Pure Data also, and resorted to Audacity. Even with Audacity, I had a lot of trouble. Anyway, the outcome is quite satisfactory, since it has the sense of continuous and seemingly incessant duplication, although that is not actually the case regarding how prions actually work.

My clip evokes a sense of robotic, unstoppable, and uncontrollable repetition that sounds like it will never end. I think this is what creates the creepy and terrifying effect of how prions wreak havoc.
