Week 10: Adrenaline and Epinephrine

I was in the hospital yesterday and sedated with propofol but I am now back and fully functional!

While learning about my assigned neurotransmitter, I realized the following: 1) The United States really enjoys being different. We have a different measurement system for just about everything (height, weight, etc.); we drive on the other side of the road; we stand on the right side of the escalator. We even have different names for the same chemical compound, C9H13NO3! Europe refers to this neurotransmitter hormone as adrenaline, while the United States calls it epinephrine. Before conducting research, I was aware of adrenaline and the Epi-pen as two separate entities. I had no idea that the two refer to the same hormone!

I am looking forward to making adrenaline/epinephrine more accessible and understandable to the public through our final project.
