Hi guys, my name is Lizzy Kong. I am an English and Economics major. I am taking this class because I need an MM distribution and I did a study for Professor Banzaert last semester and wanted to take a class with her. Something interesting about me is that I traveled for a month and a half this summer. I went to five major cities in the US as well as Beijing and Xi’An.
A consumer product that I own is my Hello Kitty notebook. I love the cover of it and it is a great place for me to just write down my plans for the week or organize my obligations. It is a spiral notebook so it can fold back and remove pages easily. I would consider this product sustainable because it is capable of being recycled since it consists primarily of paper, although the plastic spiral may not be recyclable. I am thinking the notebook costs $2 but only $.50 to make, as it only consists of two parts: paper and a spiral.
Great to have you in class. The spiral is a really interesting part to note … it has the features you mention, and can also be damaged relatively easily. If it’s plastic coated metal, that also reduces its ability to be recycled.
