My product is my YETI water bottle. This water bottle was a gift, but it retails for about $30. The bottle is functional, but very difficult to open and doesn’t deal with water pressure changes very well. Even if the weather changes and it rains, water will shoot out the mouthpiece and always get my shirt wet. I’m curious as to why YETI’s cost so much when compared to other similar and seemingly identical insulated water bottles. Is the material used special, is the design different in some way? I’d guess that this bottle has 6 parts. 3 in the mouthpiece and 3 that make up the body.
Very glad to have you in class. You ask a great question on cost … there’s often a lot of branding-related reasons for cost, rather than actual materials, but are occasions where a higher cost is reflected in the materials and design.
