My name is Amanda and I am a potential Geoscience major. I chose to take this class because I love being hands-on and creating products. Also, I have always been interested in engineering so I did not want to miss out on taking a class. Something interesting about me is that I can write gothic calligraphy.
The product I would like to talk about is my pen. It may seem like a regular plain pen, but it is the smoothest and clearest writing pen I have ever owned. When I write with it, I see the fresh ink shining and drying perfectly without smudge or travel. It also does not even leak onto the next page. What’s fascinating about the pen is that it is built in one piece. From the ball point tip to the ink. When I screw off the body of the pen, I see are relatively large container that holds all the watery ink. The amount of ink in the pen allows it to last me at least a month.
Something I wonder about the product is the origin of the idea behind the ink container. There are only two removable parts of the pen, the cap and the body. Normally I can take apart a regular pen that has 6 or 7 parts, but on this one, I cannot go farther. I consider this product sustainable since it carries so much ink, therefore making the product last longer than most pens. The production of the pen cost probably around fifty cents to a dollar, and I purchase dit for four dollars. The outside and ink container is made of plastic, while the tip is some type of metal, perhaps iron.
So glad to have you in class, Amanda! What pen is it? It’d be great to include a picture in this post and the brand name / model so we can all enjoy the joy of your pen.
