Dorm Light Project

Our group generated ideas focusing on using the circuits for information though light. Because we did the bulk of our brainstorming in class, I was not able to keep the final Pugh chart of our work. However, our final idea combined thinking on cost effectiveness, usefulness as well as elements like portability to best utilize both the circuit technology and its place in the dorms as we know them. We hope to build a device indicating where we are on campus that can be hung outside our rooms or attached to our doors. Similar paper mechanisms already exist, but they become frayed over the course of the year and poke numerous holes in the door’s cork boards. We believe this is a more durable solution that is feasible in both cost and skill. Further, it will have an added benefit of enhancing the dorm’s community ambiance.
