This week we worked on the sketch model of the final product – the Bow Holder. We worked in the We-Lab to develop the stand, wheels and holders in the simplest forms. It is surprising that even though we could easily think of the model in our minds or on computer, in real life it’s so hard to even put the block together because we have to make sure that the parts don’t fall apart and the angle is perfectly perpendicular to the plane.
After reflecting on our project in class (discussion within our groups and with the whole class), next week we decide to make the stand more stable in the key functioning prototype, and explore potential material pieces to use by Amazon.
I like the wheels on the sketch model, Dara! I find the sketch model really easy to understand. I think that finding potential materials on Amazon is a good next step–maybe also putting a lot of thought about the size, weight, and height of the stand may also be a good starting point because then you guys will have a more clear understanding of what materials and how much you would need.
