This week, we decided to narrow the focus our project and design for those who can hold the bow with one hand, aiming only to relieve the weight of the bow so the individual has an easier time using it. We conducted a few successful tests with a real bow, in which the user was not able to pull the string back without the support of the stand, and was able to with it.
We were happy with the design of the prototype but needed to design the method for holding the poles up both indoors and outdoors. We came up with a few ideas and used a Pugh chart to determine we wanted to move forward with a convertible design that attaches to a stake for use on dirt, sand, grass, etc. and a platform attachment for other terrain like concrete and indoors.
We ordered the materials for our to-scale prototype and began the process of constructing the platform base.
I like that your design is convertible for different areas/ground materials. I wonder if your design will also work for people who use a wheelchair.
