The trip to CRI left me excited about working on a rowing project and extremely impressed with the para-athletes. The community at CRI is extremely invested in ensuring that everyone who wants to row has the opportunity. The opportunity is just the start, however, as they continue to work with the athletes until they can not only row, but also medal internationally. I really wish I could fix the problem with the straps to minimize friction and reduce the risk of rib fracture, but I understand that the regulations are complicated and I don’t know if we’re able to address it. I am also interested in making a way for Joanna to carry her shell or oars. I think that some simple solutions could really change her ability to freely move down the dock. I’m excited to help.
