This week was a bit crazy, given my absence on Wednesday and inability to meet with the group during the week. Even though I missed a whole lot, it was really wonderful to be back on Friday and hear all about the discussions my team engaged in.
Our second scooter arrived, which was wonderful since the idea of having adjustability on both the top and bottom was fulfilled. Below is a photo of the two connected via a separate pipe that fits into both pink bases. It extends to roughly 48″ at its tallest, which after speaking with Madi we learned is too short. We expect that we will increase the pipe in the middle to create more height so that it’s 48″ to the middle of the bow when the bow is placed on.
We then discussed the two clamps that we ordered. In my last post I said that the first two-pronged clamp did not work alone. While that is true, Dara suggested we try combining them. So, we worked on a prototype of one two-pronged clamp connecting to the scooter white the three-pronged one would clutch the bow. Here is a photo without the bow.
After this, we met with Madi in the KSC to show her our progress. We learned that we need to be mindful of the different types of bows and that the scooter handle (where the bow will rest) cannot touch the cam/strings of the bow. We might cut off the handle grip to fix this, but we need to brainstorm more. We sadly could not test a shot with the bow because of the cam interference and because the base was tipping over with the weight of the bow.
I’m excited to see what will come with this new feedback!
