Wintersession was busy!
•    Internet bandwidth is now 1GB, increased from 160 MB.
•    In a webcast pilot, 2 Albright events and 1 athletics event were streamed live. To learn more about webcasting, contact Jarlath Waldron, jwaldron@wellesley.edu.
•    Wireless in the College Club has been greatly improved, and the Trustees were lent iPads loaded with Board documents.
•    15 iPads will begin circulating on 2/7 for 2 week periods through Clapp Library, call x2166 to reserve.
•    Self-service at the Help Desk: Submit your own Help Desk request or check on a ticket through MyWellesley > Help tab. You can also email the Help Desk at helpdesk@wellesley.edu and a ticket will be created for your request.
•    The Help Desk has expanded its hours to 8:15am-5:30pm Monday through Friday; highly-trained students staff the desk between 4:30-5:30pm.
•    IS Service Alerts are available in a blog you can subscribe to — receive updates as they happen.
•    The college has invested in lynda.com, a well-regarded online training site with a vast library of video offerings that you can use on campus (no need to log in) or, with the 16-digit number on your OneCard, off campus.

Coming…Tomorrow!
Faculty-Staff MyWellesley Mobile Apps: The same useful mobile apps released for students plus Class Lists will be available for faculty. Use the Campus Directory and click to make a call from your phone. Shuttle, dining hall, academic calendar, IS service alerts, and more, all through your mobile device. Using your device’s browser, log into https://my.wellesley.edu.

The Help feature has been updated to include optimal browser settings, including Blackberries. Need help? Contact the Help Desk, x3333 or email helpdesk@wellesley.edu. Comments or suggestions for new features? Email mywellesleysupport@wellesley.edu. With thanks to the My Mobile Team (Jim Billings, Judy Hall, Edward Stumpf, and Maureen Williams).

Caller ID: Starting tomorrow, when you call someone off-campus from an on-campus phone, the person you’re calling will see “Wellesley College” plus the number you’re calling from. If you’d like to suppress this feature, just dial *67 before placing the call.

Coming…soon!
•    Thanks to collaboration with our colleagues from Special Events and Public Affairs, you’ll see improvements to the campus calendar. Also look for enhanced MyWellesley and Sakai log-in pages, and improvements to the Library & Technology website.
•    Secure VPN from off-campus (easier access to on-campus data and services)
•    More options for networked file storage
•    Live Chat with the Help Desk
•    Virtual desktop pilot (allows key pieces of computing to be networked and centrally maintained)
•    Internet connection redundancy
