You are cordially invited to a talk on the university’s role in the dissemination of research and scholarship, and good practices for college and university Open Access policies. The event will take place on Tues., Dec. 11 at 4:30pm in the Clapp Library Lecture Room; light snacks will be served at 4pm.

Dr. Shieber will discuss policies to address both the symptoms and the causes of the dysfunction in journal publishing. In particular he will analyze Open Access Policies, including Harvard’s, intended to promote the broadest access to the university’s scholarly writings by retaining rights to distribute scholarly articles according to the principles of Open Access.

More detailed information about Dr. Shieber can be found on the event flyer.
