It’s that time of year, when travel is likely and you want everything to go smoothly, including keeping your information safe and secure. We’ve put together a page of tips for when you’re off-campus or traveling and need to access your email and other College applications.

Hackers have become more sophisticated and always relentlessly persistent about compromising systems and data, and engineers work hard to stay ahead of them. One of the best things you can do to preserve security is also the simplest — use strong, unique passwords and don’t save them in the app. We also have advice on securing your laptop and how to easily and safely connect to College apps while you’re away from campus.

If you’re especially interested in keeping your information safe and want to learn best practices, consider checking out the security video that is required viewing for College employees who access sensitive data. The short videos provide a wealth of knowledge that even our seasoned security professionals have benefited from. If you are interested, you will see information in MyWellesley > Employment Services > Data Security Training. If you’re required to take the training because of your access to sensitive data, you’ll see instructions for SANS Security Training.

On behalf of LTS, we wish you a safe and happy holiday break, and look forward to working closely with you in the new year.
