Google has released a new feature — Gmail automatically displays images embedded in emails.  Previously, there was a link at the top of emails asking if you want to view images from external sources. Due to possible security issues, we recommend  disabling this setting by going to Settings (gear icon in upper right corner of Gmail) > General, and next to Images:, select Ask before displaying external images, then click Save Changes at the bottom.

More info: good article about the feature and our Google website.
