Administrative Department Technology Support

In order to better support the technical support needs of administrative staff after the technology centralization, we are introducing a special administrative support line at the Help Desk. By calling x2056, you will be  connected to experienced staff and student managers at the Help Desk who will help triage your call to get you the best support quickly. They will be able to forward your call to our Administrative Solutions Technologists (AST) and Administrative Computing Support Specialist — the first available person will work with you on the issue.

We have also formed teams of LTS staff in order to provide the best possible support for the administrative departments’ technical needs. We have created a web page describing this new team-based administrative support structure. Each department team is made up of an AST, Enterprise Solutions (Banner and other enterprise-wide tools) support, desktop support, and a web programmer. These roles will somewhat flexible, of course, based on availability and project resources, but we hope this listing will make you feel more confident about who to reach out to in LTS. Everyone should always feel comfortable starting with the Help Desk.

Where do I store my data?

It is up to each of us to responsibly store and protect the data we work with. Just storing a PII (personally identifiable information) in the Vault is not enough, for example. It’s also important to know about College policies regarding sensitive data, and the proper methods of storing it. Please review these Data Storage Guidelines. At the bottom of the page, you’ll find a link for help classifying different types of data. The choices you make would have an enormous difference in the event of a security breach, and could save the College significant time, money, and negative press. Do not hesitate to contact Donna Volpe Strouse if you have questions.
