Smart Compose is a new feature for Gmail that uses artificial intelligence and machine learning to give you suggestions as you type your email. Currently it gives autocomplete suggestions for common phrases and relevant information such as addresses, but the more you compose emails the smarter the suggestions will get. To learn more about this, see posts on the Google Updates blog and the Google AI blog.

To change your Smart Compose setting, in Gmail go to Settings > General, and turn Smart Compose on or off.  For more details, see their Help Center article.
