After the 3/22-23 weekend network upgrade

After the upgrade…

Changes to Wireless Connections

You will see the following wireless networks:

  • Wellesley Secure (new campus wireless network, WPA2 Enterprise encryption)
  • Wellesley Setup (best for Windows PCs; automatically configures your wireless device for Wellesley Secure)
  • Wellesley Guest (new guest wireless network for visitors)
  • Wellesley (current wireless network, will be phased out over time)

We encourage all faculty, staff, and students to connect their wireless devices to the Wellesley Secure network as soon as possible. If you have a Windows PC, use Wellesley Setup first for one-time configuration; after that, use the Wellesley Secure wireless network. If you have any problems, you can use “Wellesley” and contact the Help Desk for assistance in moving to Wellesley Secure.

As a community member, you can add mobile devices to the wireless network without the HelpDesk’s involvement. No more exemptions!

Changes to Wired Connections

Standard faculty/staff College-owned computers will connect to the network when you log into the computer with your domain credentials (the NAC agent is no longer required). If you aren’t logged in, you will be prompted for your domain username and password.  If your computer is not a standard configuration, you may need to enter your username as WELLESLEY\username.  If this doesn’t work, please contact the Help Desk for further assistance.

Network printers and MFDs should automatically connect to the Wellesley network, but may need to be restarted.
