The Office of Sponsored Research oversees research compliance for the campus, and assists researchers to meet their compliance obligations. This includes ensuring compliance with all sponsor, government and College policies for pre-award research administration. Because the federal government is a major sponsor of research at the College, our policies and procedures have been developed to comply with federal regulations (2 CFR 200 – Uniform Administrative Requirements, Cost Principles, and Audit Requirements for Federal Awards). For consistency, these standards (including budgeting of salaries and other expenses) will be applied uniformly regardless of sponsor type unless a policy states otherwise.

Additionally, OSR serves as liaison to College research oversight committees on the use of human subjects (IRB), animal care (IACUC), BioSafety (IBC)
