Self-Introduction (Sydney Yi)

안녕하세요~! My name is Sydney Yi (she/her). I’m a member of the Class of 2023, an Economics and East Asian Languages and Cultures (concentration, Korean) double major, and the Ted Wang Fellow of 2022 in South Korea. This is a bit of a late start for me, since I’ve been in Korea since the fall semester of 2021 on a year-long exchange program. Nonetheless, I’m looking forward to sharing my journey here.

I’ve also been working as an intern with Shinhan Financial Group’s Global Business Division. I’ve been meeting so many new people and consequently learning so much in terms of both hard and soft skills, applications of economic theory, and the inner machinations of financial institutions. I will also be leading a series of dialogues with six women in Korea, learning all I can from their professional and life experiences. Both the internship and interviews have been truly enlightening experiences so far and I can’t wait to share all I’ve learned with you all!

I hope everyone can join me in my journeys here~
