KSC Elevator Temporarily Closed, Beginning Monday

As part of the Field House renovation project, the elevator in the Keohane Sports Center will be closed for upgrade related work, beginning Monday, November 24 through the end of December 2014.

Please note that occupants will need to use the stairs in order to access the pool or upper levels of the Recreation Building. Student-led Fitness and Employee Wellness classes have been modified to address this impact. Please check the PERA website for any schedule changes.

We apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause during this necessary project-related task.

Boathouse Renovations

As you may have already heard and thanks to the generosity of Alice Butler ’53 and her husband, John, the boathouse on Lake Waban is undergoing a comprehensive renovation to update and upgrade a facility used by Physical Education, Recreation, and Athletics.

The building, which dates to 1963, will be completely renovated with improved accessibility, creating a new main entry, prep room, improved shop space, canoe/kayak room, and storage. The project will also improve the entry points into the boathouse from campus and Lake Waban.

Alice Butler, who was an avid member of her dorm crew, and her husband are both lifelong fitness enthusiasts. Their gift fully enables much-needed work to renovate this structure, and it supports other PERA initiatives as well.

Work recently began on this project and is expected to conclude in mid-May.

For those who walk the paths along Lake Waban near the boathouse, please note that alternate routes will be in effect for the duration of the project.
