Summer Research Fellowship: Bernie for Burlington Research Assistant

Bernie for Burlington Research Assistant

A position for a student with experience in web design and an interest in politics, to create a website for Professor Dan Chiasson’s forthcoming book Bernie for Burlington: A Story of Politics and Change in One American Place (Alfred A. Knopf, 2026). The student will create a website featuring exhibits of materials (text, audio, video) arranged chronologically, to mirror the content of the book.

Payment: Students will receive $4,500 at the beginning of the summer and the remaining $500 at the conclusion of the summer research fellowship. Payment of the $4,500 before the start of the research period can be arranged if students require the funds to pay for research travel expenses, secure summer housing, etc.

Timeline: Summer research fellows will work 8-10 weeks beginning after the conclusion of the Spring semester and ending before the start of Fall semester. Graduating seniors cannot participate in a fellowship the summer following their graduation.

Housing: Summer research fellowships can be in person or remote, depending on the faculty leads preference. Applications for on campus summer housing open Apr 1, 2025. TSSL cannot guarantee housing. The student would be expected to cover summer housing costs.
