This week is the annual meeting of the American Association of Physical Anthropologists, hosted this year by the University of Oregon and taking place in Portland. Running concurrent with the AAPA meetings are the annual meetings of the Human Biology Association and the Paleopathology Association, making Portland this week’s epicenter of all things biological anthropology related.
I have only just started to go through the program, but I will post a few thoughts on potentially exciting talks and events prior to my departure tomorrow.
Kate Clancy has a preview piece up on her Scientific American blog.
Caroline Van Sickle, a graduate student at the University of Michigan, has put together an android mobile app designed to help navigate the meetings, events, places and neighborhood for the week.
You can also follow the meetings on twitter with the hashtag #AAPA2012. Caitlin S (aka @paleophile on twitter) will be consolidating some of the twitter threads from the meeting.
