About EEC & CPPI

Massachusetts EEC
The Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care (EEC) provides the foundation that supports all children with their development as lifelong learners and contributing members of the community. EEC supports families and parents in their essential work as caregivers. Given the important role of early education in supporting school readiness, particularly for children facing adversities that reduce the likelihood of school success, the expansion of access to high-quality early education is an essential component of statewide efforts to educational outcomes.

CPPI Initiative
The Wellesley CLASS® Training grant is supported by the Commonwealth Preschool Partnership Initiative (CPPI), an EEC program that funds quality improvement in our public and community-based preschools.

A key element of the CPPI is the importance of high-quality, job-embedded learning models to ensure program stability, workforce retention, and the engagement of district and community-based educators with program leadership. Together these factors align help CPPI communities implement a sustainable engagement with continuous quality improvement. For more information, see the CPPI Initiative.
