About Us (Wellesley WFC)

Illustration of WFC mission at the intersections of Work, Families and Children.

The CLASS® training grant is performed by staff of the “Work, Families and Children” (WFC) research group, part of the Wellesley Centers for Women at Wellesley College.

At WFC our mission is to advance the health and well-being of working families and their children, by providing an evidence base to inform policies and practices related to early child care, education and employment.

The WFC began in 1987, with a study of the affordability of early care and education in Massachusetts, funded by the State Office for Children. Since then WFC has continued its research and action projects on early care and education, as well as working conditions and health. For more information, see our timeline.
