CLASS® is an instrument used to evaluate the quality of educator-child interactions in a classroom. We focus on its potential to improve quality and guide planning at the PreK-Grade 3 level. In all our offerings, we utilize materials and concepts developed by its owner, Teachstone, Inc. See our page for more detail on CLASS®.
- Introductory Trainings
The basic trainings provided to Educators, Coaches and Leaders range from three to six hours. In contrast, those interested in becoming certified Observers will receive in-depth training over three days provided by Teachstone, the owner of the CLASS®. - Additional Resources to Enhance CLASS® skills
We offer a variety of resources to supplement our formal training and help users expand their knowledge of CLASS®. Examples include the following:
– Professional Learning Communities (PLC) Workshops, 45-minute online discussions moderated by experienced presenters. PLCs are available in two forms, either a) live over zoom or as b) pre-recorded videos, which can be viewed on demand.
– Our curated collection of Teachstone articles, videos and reference materials. These online resources will benefit every CLASS® learner.
– Apprentice program, designed for certified CLASS® Observers. This program pairs participants with experienced CLASS® mentors. Under their guidance, participants will perform classroom observations with improved confidence, independence and reliability.
