Spring Break [And Senior Week!]

Hello hello! Term 4 has hit hard, and I am insanely behind on posting. The thesis is due in less than two weeks! I started to write today’s post on FDOC and never quite finished. Here it is!

Happy FDOC (first day of classes)! Today marks my last first day of college, ever. Wild! I won’t get into too much detail about it (I will in my  next post), but today has included several milestones: my first in person classes since March 2020 and seeing my fellow class of 2021 evergreen seniors in their long black robes are a few of them.

Last week was our spring/term break! It was also our senior week. The Senior Class Council put together some wonderful events, from chalk art to outdoor movie nights, and it was great fun. I thought I’d go through day by day through the week, since it was a good one! Enjoy this photo gallery of spring break 2021!

Saturday/Sunday

I signed up for March Madness, a ping pong tournament hosted by PERA (Physical Education, Recreation, Athletics). It was a great way to hone my ping pong skills and meet new people across campus. Here’s a picture of me, Caroline, and Alex after our game!

It was beautiful out on Saturday, so Sophia and I decided to play some badminton in the Quad. It was chaotic badminton, but by the end, we got pretty good!

On Sunday night during break, a few friends and I decided to go on a night lake walk! It was terrifying, but we blasted Dua Lipa to keep us going. Here’s a view of Lake House at night.

Monday

On Monday, I had a morning full of interviews. To decompress from Zoom, I spent some time by the lake overlook. It was a cloudy day, but still pleasant out.

As part of senior week, we had the chance to explore the newly renovated greenhouses (called the Global Flora Conservatory). There was a piano inside! It was breathtaking, and I am so jealous of all the future students who get to spend time here. It will be completely open in Spring 2022.

Tuesday

We went roller skating! I fell exactly 6 times, but by the end, I think I got the hang of it! It was a blast and a beautiful day out.

While Sophia and I were attempting to play badminton, and we ran into Macy and Tootsie! Can confirm Tootsie is the softest doggo around.

And, I ended the day with an outdoor movie night on Alumnae Lawn! 10 Things I Hate About You is a classic. The night was compete with glowsticks and hot chocolate.

Wednesday

For Walking Wednesday, Katie and I decided to go on a walk with Don and Lake House. He took us on a hike near Paintshop Pond, and showed us a part of campus I never knew existed!

There was a chalk art contest as part of senior week. Here was our submission – for context, class of 2021 is the green class. And, as this past year has shown us, it’s not easy being green! We ended up winning in the ‘most class spirit’ category!

Thursday

The lovely blockmates and I decided to make a trip to Truly’s (an ice cream shop in the Ville)

Friday (work)

Friday was quite uneventful, since it was my catch up on work day. I spent the day going over my thesis and ended the night with some Indian food and Attack on Titan (we’re all caught up now…season 4 part 2 can’t come soon enough)!

Saturday

The weather on Saturday was ABSOLUTELY beautiful. Katie and I spent the whole day outdoors – we started by getting brunch at the Wellesley Bakery, and spontaneously ended up at Morses Pond. It was our first time there, and I can’t believe we missed this gem in our own backyard! It was a gorgeous day to lay out in the sun, read a book, and listen to some music.

We spotted this adorable doggo at Morses Pond Beach!

As you can probably tell, this spring break was one for the books. It was an unforgettable week. I ended break feeling refreshed and ready for my last term of college ever.

Until next time,

Shreya
