Greetings, Lovely Readers! Welcome back to my world! I’m back again this week, so I hope y’all are ready for this week’s post! Grab those snacks and a cup of tea and prepare to hear about my adventures candle-pin bowling!!! So last week, my friends (my fellow admissions interns) and I went out on our final activity for the summer with our amazing supervisors Jenna and Nhia. Now for context, when the idea of candlepin bowling was pitched, I was so confused y’all…this was a new thing for me because it’s not something I have back home so I was definitely intrigued 😂. So let me give y’all an idea of what these pins look like, they’re super skinny and slim, nothing like the regular sized pins that I am used to seeing…so because the pins are so tiny, the balls are also really small 😭. They’re the same size as small fruits like grapefruit! When I saw them, I was so confused because I couldn’t understand how they could knock the pins over, but I quickly found out…
So after work, we all headed off into the car, blasting our favorite songs (Beyoncé of course, Taylor Swift, Charlie XCX and Sabrina.. I wasn’t on aux so I didn’t pick that one 😭). By the time we got to the bowling alley, we were fully in the competitive spirit. One thing about me is I’m quite competitive… .Whatever game I’m playing I always want to win (I mean it doesn’t always play out that way but let me remain delusional y’all!). So we get there, head inside and start picking out some bowling alley shoes. I actually wish I had taken a picture of the shoes so I could have put it in this blog for y’all to see, but guys…..they were so big on me 😂. I think they were US 12?? I mean my feet are nowhere near that big, but I made it work and still rocked them nonetheless 😉.
Okay so we split into two teams, it was the 5 of us versus Jenna and Nhia, and we were set on winning! Candle-pin bowling, for the uninitiated, is so hard y’all!! As a newbie, I truly couldn’t get my head around it….. You get three throws per frame instead of two, which sounds like a great thing, until you realize you’ll still somehow manage to miss every pin on the first two throws and then knock over exactly one pin with your final shot. It’s humbling, to say the least.

Chelsea thinking of her bowling technique before her next go 🙂

Jenna and I on our next turn each…y’all I was not doing very good by this point lmaoo

Rachel’s technique was to cradle the ball… I wish I knew why lol

After we finished bowling, we went to a really cute boba shop :))
Lets’ just say candle-pin bowling isn’t my thing y’all….I was actually so bad at it During the whole game, every time I went up, I just knew it wasn’t going to be good. I knew I was bad when me knocking over 2 pins was an achievement for me and everyone cheered😭. Bri ate all of us up like bad!!! But nonetheless, I had so much fun with my friends/supervisors, and we ended the evening by going to a boba shop where I got some delicious macaroons 😋.
Anyways y’all, today is kinda sad because this is my last blog of the summer 🥹🥹. I have honestly had so much fun getting to chat with y’all every week and giving you a glimpse into my whacky and chaotic life!! I hope y’all have enjoyed coming on this journey with me, it’s been a blast!! Maybe… y’all will see me sooner than you think, who knows 😉. Until then, this is your favourite brit signing out for the summer!!
Bye loveliess🥰♥️
