The playlist of this week, featuring Childish Gambino: http://8tracks.com/okczer/childish-gambino#smart_id=artist:Childish_Gambino&play=1
I was just telling one of my fellow bloggers that I feel like all I write about in these blog posts are the things I do over the weekend. Believe me, I’m studying at Wellesley too — but I generally like to keep myself busy with other things (like going to shows, eating good food, seeing friends at other colleges, getting lost in Boston..).
On Saturday, I went to the Homecoming show at Northeastern University. One of my best friends goes to NEU and she and I are HUGE fans of the actor/comedian/rapper/overall handsomeman that is Donald Glover. He performed a new song off of his upcoming album, answered a few (ridiculous) questions from students, and almost took his shirt off. I am such a fangirl..smh.
Then on Sunday I went to a Comedy Show at the Paradise Rock Club with a friend who goes to Boston University to see College Humor Live. Jake and Amir (with who we are pictured above) were SO funny the two of us were cracking up the entire time.
I’ve found that getting to Boston can be frustrating at times, especially since the availability of public transportation here is very different from what I’m used to back home. I have been spoiled with the privilege of cheap, reliable, and efficient train and bus systems of Tokyo, and so moving to Wellesley has been somewhat of a shock. I am now getting used to planning ahead (which I never used to do) so that I can make the Senate or Exchange Bus that takes Wellesley students downtown, and utilize the 45 min to one hour bus ride as a much needed “nap time”. In the past few months I’ve realized that college really is about being flexible, patient, and open to new things.
One more week til Thanksgiving Break!!!! I should get back to doing work, which I do! I swear! despite my lack of studying on the weekends lately…
